Nova Scotia Golf Courses

To speak of the Nova Scotia golf courses, is like speaking of the game of golf itself.

In this great sport of golf, the real challenge to the golfer is not his/her opponent, or even himself, but the challenge that lies with the golf course he is playing on.

That is probably the main reason why the game of golf has managed to maintain its great feeling of sportsmanship, because, at its highest level, it is more a game against the elements as it is against each other.

And the great majority of them are open to play by visitors.

In recent years, there has been an explosion of interest in golf in Nova Scotia. The most significant development on the Nova Scotia golf course scene has been the restoration and refurbishment of the classic Highlands Links in Cape Breton.

In various golf publications it has been rated the best golf course in Canada.

Great courses by the sea are few and far between, yet many of Nova Scotia’s golf courses fall into that category, from the legendary Highlands Links to the beauty of Chester Golf Course overlooking the islands of Mahone Bay.

Some golfers have even complained that the courses as so scenic that they are actually distracted from their golf game.

It’s no wonder that one just naturally gets intrigued and wants to take on the challenge. It is for this reason that I have included a directory of public access Nova Scotia golf courses.
